My bad....I had an typo when I tried....."--without-python" option did the trick.

Was able to compile it successfully.

One cause could be that this version of BIND will try to build the "isc"
python module, and fail, because it requires python >= 2.7. However, RHEL 6 only ships with python 2.6. You can probably see this if you examine the build logs.

You'll need to add "--without-python" to work around this.

I also recommend that you remove the DIG_SIGCHASE define. This feature has been deprecated, and the newest release of BIND, 9.14.0, doesn't even have it any more.
